Dear Washington Elementary School Families,

Welcome to a new school year at Washington Elementary School! I am honored and excited to serve as your Principal.

Returning to Washington Elementary is special because it is where I learned and developed my passion, and after 20 years in various roles, I am honored to return to the school that shaped it.

At Washington Elementary, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, challenged, and valued every day. Our goal is to provide a positive learning environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally while developing the confidence to become lifelong learners and leaders.

One of our highest priorities this year is ensuring excellent attendance. Every day at school truly matters for your child’s learning and well-being. Regular attendance helps students succeed academically, build lasting friendships, and feel a vital part of our school community. We ask all families to make school attendance a top priority: please ensure your child arrives on time, ready to learn, and attends every day unless illness prevents it. Strong attendance habits benefit students now and into the future. Together, we can help every Dolphin reach their full potential.

Another important focus is our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. At Washington, the Dolphins are expected to be respectful, responsible, safe, and organized each day.

• Stay safe by following school rules and helping create a caring environment.
• Organized by coming prepared and ready to learn each day.

These expectations help us create a welcoming school where every student feels respected, included, and successful. We will recognize and celebrate students who consistently demonstrate these positive behaviors and excellent attendance throughout the year.

We know that a strong partnership between school and home is essential to student success. I encourage you to stay involved by attending school events, participating in Coffee with the Principal, ELAC, SSC, PTA activities, and maintaining regular communication with your child's teacher. Together, we can provide every student with the support they need to thrive.

I am excited to work alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, and wonderful students as we continue moving Washington Elementary forward. Together, we will create a school where every student is known, every family feels welcomed, and every Dolphin is inspired to achieve their very best.
